Member Code of Conduct

1. Purpose

The Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce brings together a diverse community of businesses and individuals. This Code of Conduct sets the standards that allow our members to network, collaborate, and grow in an environment of mutual respect, integrity, and professionalism.

2. Core principles

• Respect — treat every member, guest, and partner with courtesy and dignity.
• Integrity — conduct business honestly and ethically.
• Inclusion — welcome people of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities.
• Community — support the shared success of the Gold Coast and its businesses.

3. Expected conduct

• Represent your business and the Chamber honestly and professionally;
• Honor your commitments to other members and to the Chamber;
• Respect confidentiality and the privacy of fellow members;
• Provide goods and services as advertised and address concerns in good faith;
• Use member contact information and the directory only for legitimate, permission-based purposes.

4. Prohibited conduct

• Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or bullying of any kind;
• Fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful business practices;
• Misuse of the Chamber name, logo, or endorsement without authorization;
• Unsolicited, aggressive, or spam marketing to members;
• Disruptive, threatening, or unsafe behavior at events or online;
• Misrepresenting your affiliation, credentials, or membership status.

5. Conduct at events

Chamber events are professional gatherings. Attendees should engage respectfully, follow venue rules, drink responsibly where alcohol is served, and ensure their guests do the same. The Chamber wants every event — including the many planned around 2026 — to be safe and welcoming for all.

6. Reporting concerns

If you experience or witness conduct that violates this Code, please report it to the Chamber office promptly. Reports can be made by email or phone and will be handled discreetly. We will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a good-faith concern.

7. Enforcement

The Chamber takes violations seriously. Depending on the circumstances, responses may include a warning, mediation, removal from an event, or suspension or revocation of membership, consistent with the Chamber's bylaws and the Membership & Refund Policy. The Chamber's determinations under this Code are made at its reasonable discretion.
